Working with a busy back-to-school schedule

With temperatures in the 90s, it's hard to believe summer is winding down. But as the days begin to get shorter, it’s time to start gearing up for your fall training. It can be a daunting task for athletes to seamlessly transition from the easy-going days of summer to the hustle of a new school year. Follow the tips below to get a head start on the fall training season, creating success for both you, and your clients.

  1. Understand your clients and their schedule.
Are your athletes competing in fall season school sports? If so, reach out to your clients to gain a better understanding of their fall sports schedule and additional. This will allow you to create a training schedule that fits with each individual athlete’s needs. This small communication with your clients will show that you understand their busy schedule and care about making accommodations for them.
  2. Create your fall schedule early.
Once you have an understanding of your clients fall commitments, setting a schedule can still be a time consuming task. Get a head start on your fall schedule and complete it prior to the fall months. By the time September rolls around, you will be happy to have time to focus on your athletes rather than stressing about the schedule for the next week. By scheduling your lessons, training and camps for the fall months in July and August, you make it easy for your clients to plan in advance in preparation for a busy season. Start thinking ahead! This will help you get clients booked early and keep revenue flowing consistently as the season changes!

  3. Market your fall training.
In today’s competitive sports training world, another reason to schedule your training in advance, is to leave time to market that training. Get the word out to your clients that your fall schedule has been set. Take advantage of all avenues of marketing such as marketing emails, client referrals, newspapers, school bulletins and social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, to help fill your fall training spots.
